  • You need never be stuck for somewhere new to visit in the beautiful Sussex countryside. The area is fantastic for walkers. We are ten minutes walk from the SOUTH DOWNS WAY, but there are many other stunning places to walk for everyone, no matter what their fitness level. We have maps and books of local walks available.   • If you want a more leisurely holiday there are lovely villages like ALFRISTON and EAST DEAN to visit
  • Or nearby towns such as LEWES with its Castle, antique shops, brewery and much more.
  • BATTLE is worth a visit. In BATTLE ABBEY you can retrace the original BATTLE OF HASTINGS. Or relive YESTERDAY's WORLD with its large exhibition of bygone days.
  • The Cinque Port of RYE is another great day out, with winding narrow street, antique shops and great views.
  • If you like history BODIAM CASTLE (N.T.) is a wonderful fairytale castle surounded by a moat.
  • There are many great gardens, such as SHEFFIELD PARK (N.T.), PASHLEY MANOR GARDENS and PARADISE PARK, all worth a visit.
  • Steam train enthusiasts will love THE BLUEBELL RAILWAY, take a round trip on a steam train and visit the engine sheds.
